Robotics, AI and the people who will build what comes next.
I've project managed multi-million-pound robotics and AI research projects and I teach young people to code. I am an engineer, a geek, a dad, an inventor and an ambassador for STE(A)M as director of Club Coders Ltd. I am also an ambassador for accessible education as founding trustee of Shared Area Org.

Teaching coding, robotics and engineering
Project managing multi-million-pound robotics and AI research, and teaching people to code, build and fix things. My career has never kept those two apart for long.
I trained in electronics, lectured electronic engineering to full-time learners and apprentices at Birmingham Metropolitan College, then went back to the University of Birmingham to study Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, specialising in intelligent robotics. Alongside that I started Robot Coders, running robotics and computing clubs in primary schools and training teachers to deliver the computing curriculum.
From 2018 I spent eight years project managing robotics and AI research at Birmingham, through large publicly funded programmes including the £42m National Centre for Nuclear Robotics and the £32m RESCU-M2 programme. That meant consortia of universities and industry partners, programme advisory boards with members from aerospace, vehicle manufacturers, the NHS, NNL and Sellafield, building a £2.8m robotics and AI lab, and keeping a national programme delivering through Covid-19.
In 2026 I founded Club Coders, a live online games coding and AI club for 13 to 17 year olds. I also founded Shared Area, an education charity building free, safeguarded learning for everyone. Many of the young people I teach are neurodivergent, home-educated, or have drifted away from mainstream education. Giving them a way back in is the work I care about most.
